Sorry for the delays!

We have been having Internet trouble… and I so wanted to showcase our family vacation photos and all the new sessions we have had in the short time we have been home!  It has been a whirlwind!  I wish I could say vacation was relaxing but visiting Maryland, Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Virginia and D.C. all in 12 days was pretty amazing and CRAZY!

Our kids were champs and even though we did not bring a stroller… we BARELY made it through the whining and crying that their feet hurt!  Hahah  Hubby realized that a stroller would have been the best thing, and when we got to a point where we could have grabbed one it was almost too late.  Oh well!  The memories they will have!  Sore feet and bunions by the time they are ten!

In asking the kids what they liked the best, we got a lot of: “I liked Time Square!”  ” I loved the American Girl store!”  and “Oh I loved love LOVED Lady Liberty!”  I know they are young but these memories will last them a lifetime!

My favorite memory?  Or at least one of my most favorite? I have been thinking long and hard about it, but my thoughts keep coming back to the same moment.  And I share it with my daughters.  We spent the evening picking out dolls, and outfits, and matching jammies… Boy do they have a variety there!  Believe it or not, but they have a hair salon (complete with an ear piercing room!) a hospital, a tiny silkscreen area, and snack concession stand and well ROWS AND ROWS of things to buy!  We had to get their hair done, and ears pierced and well EVERYTHING!   We had not been able to book a reservation online for a meal in the cafe, so while we were shopping daddy did it for us in person.

So, the next day we head back to the American Girl store, and settled the girls and their “girls” at the table.  The waiter came around to tell us how the whole process works, and mentioned the story on the back of the menu.  The story (to make it short) is about a little girl who spends time with her mom in the city as a girls night out.  They enjoy their time and have cinnamon sticky buns (they bring these out as an appetiser so you can read the story.. haha) and as they are walking they share the hand squeeze code for I LOVE YOU (three squeezes) and then I LOVE YOU TOO (four squeezes).  Of course I breezed through the story and thought… oh so cute!

My older daughter thought the story was cute and said… “AWE! MOM!!!”  Well, my youngest who just turned five is taking a little longer to read these 4-5 paragraphs of history on the back of the menu.  And when she is done, she turned to me and smiled.  “Awe Mom!  That is the sweetest story EVER!”  I hope my girls continue to squeeze not only my hand but each others for years to come!

(Disclaimer… these were taken with my tiny point and shoot!  I did not want to lug my big camera in there! haahaa)

So squeeze your kids!  They deserve it!
