Amy Jamieson Photography…Progress

Monday, March 19th, 2018

The new site is far from done…but I have made great progress in understanding how WordPress works.  I am thankful that I have friends who are so helpful and supportive in this endeavor.  I am finally in the process of setting up pages and then I will need to cull through 20+ hard drives to find photo content and then find all the copy I need to get this thing off the ground.  Right now I am just ecstatic that my son and I figured out the CSS coding to get rid of a funky background that I absolutely did NOT like.  I was scared to mess with the coding and thankfully my son jumped right in to confirm what I was doing was right.  He is pretty awesome.  Sometimes you have to trust yourself.  I think I need to do that more.
Slowly… but surely… I will get this down.  It takes a backseat to my life and my job search.   Until then… don’t mind the dust…

Amy Jamieson Photography Website

Amy Jamieson Photography is finally back up and running… but just not as it was.  I am so thankful for the help of a friend (and his family for not minding he took the time to help me) and his complete attention to entirely gut out my website information and trade up my hosting plans.  There is no way I could have done this without him.  I hope he knows it.  Thank you, Johnny.

Now it is time for some hard work on my part.  I have to learn how to drive this new site and cull through all my old hard drives and find images to fill out my content.  In the meantime… you may find some broken links.  My shopping cart is not working at all yet.  I am not sure if we will get it back up and running.  In the world of photography, it is important, but other things are more important.

Today I am definitely excited and scared to face the work that has to be done.  But, I am horrified at the amount of work that is staring me in the face right now.  I know I can do it but it is very daunting.  I am adding my re-brand to my site now as well as my blog.  The great thing is?  My site will now work on smart phones and handheld devices.  It is amazing to me to think that years ago when I set up the original site, flash was a thing. A HUGE thing.  So ,please be patient with me.  I should have done this years ago.

I am SO EXCITED

I FINALLY have my blog back up and running.  It may take me some time to get into the habit of posting again, but I am so excited to try.  I cannot tell you how much I have missed this and I think it will be an uplifting thing for me to maintain.  (Let’s hope I keep this momentum!)

Here is the updated business info… as I am trying to update the blog!

Already Missing the Excitement of Black Friday Shopping? {{wahooo!}}

I know you get a lot of emails during the week and especially Black Friday!  Matt and I were troopers and spent the night shopping as a date!  Dennys at 4am is NOT good for my stomach!  HA!   We visited a few places that were fabulous.  NOT that I want to to be too crazy next year but SAM’s club serves breakfast and juice to their clients that come in at 5am and CVS is the best place to get items at a low cost without the crowds.  We went to Walmart at 12:15am and there were people in line for the 5am opening of the big ticket items.  But Walmart had it completely under control and it was well maintained.  Target had a line all the way past Hobby Lobby JUST to get in the door but the humdinger HAD to be Kohls or Toys R Us.  Both had lines wrapping around the entire store and people at the front checking out said they waited in line for over 2 hours JUST to purchase a couple toys for 70% off.   Personally I think it is a little nuts, but if you have the right outlook on the night and have the patience, then you are set.   I know that some families do this as a tradition every year and they have a blast.

I might entice Matt to go again next year if we have a sitter that does not mind camping out on our couch!  🙂  Today we are at the Festival Of Lights in Ahwatukee Foothills and here are the POST Black Friday sales we are offering there today in our booth!  If you can’t make it down, give us a call!  We can get you set up!

Maricopa Kids’ Day!

We had the wonderful opportunity to attend Kids’ Day in Maricopa, AZ on Saturday.  It was a lot of work, but a blast!  The MPD fingerprinted the children and Amy Jamieson Photography took snapshots of their faces to attach to the fingerprint card to provide a strong document for children that may turn up missing (Let’s pray NOT!)  Most of the kiddos are ones we have seen and met in the past, but we were so thankful to see so many new little faces this year as well!

There was free food, free crafts and a LOT of fun!

We were so swamped with so many kiddos that we never had a chance to walk around and take pictures like we had intended!  But we were so thankful that the clowns… (Not Dr John and May… hehe) came to see us!  We loved the little shot we got and how cute are they?  The Maricopa Police Department is “responsible” for their shenanigans but in a good way!  Sgt Pepper and Goober took the time to teach our children about stranger danger and the importance of staying safe!   Such happy guys and REALLY a blessing to Maricopa!

I hope you enjoy their sweet faces as much as the children did!
